"Photographers make photos, not cameras."

I've been wanting to get a digital SLR camera for many reasons and one of those reasons, although far down the list, was I thought it would make my pictures better. So I rethought my desire to get one.

Koz's top 5 reasons to get a DSLR:
1.) Take pictures faster, ability to get impromtu pictures easier
2.) More manual settings to play with depth of field
3.) More zoom, oh man I like to get pics of people "natural" not smiling for the camera
4.) Did I mention that my camera was slow?
5.) Better battery life, ya it seems like I need to get a new batt every few months

Also thinking about taking a photography class. Expect some B&W early next week, i'm gonna take my camera out during my lunch break today in downtown Minneapolis cause I know I can get some good pics.
